Smittybilt get the original. All the reviews i can find on it are from 2010 11 and i m just curious if quality control has improved at all most reviews are 1 2 stars and extreme haters of smittybilt. Sturdy rugged actually much beefier than i anticipated. I thought smittybilt had a good reputation which is why i was comfortable spending less on it than other roof racks. Only issue was in the instructions it had you assemble the entire rear portion of the rack and put it on together 3 separate parts total when it was much easier to do it piece by pice. The rack is great. You know that you need a roof rack to properly prepare for your next big journey but having a custom fit for your vehicle and your storage needs is just as important. 1 the kit claims to be boltless this is not true. Other reviews seem good so maybe i just got unlucky but the lack of quality and the fact that the issues weren t caught by the quality control inspection just doesn t sit well with me.

Overall we are very pleased with how functional the smittybilt roof rack is. Now for the not so good. I m just looking to maximize my hauling capabilities for weekend trips.
